Kokuhaku, released on 7.11.12, is Angela Aki’s 11th single. The title track was used as the ending for the anime Uchuu Kyoudai.
「告白 (Kokuhaku)」 starts off with a calming instrumentation before Angela Aki comes in with echo-y vocals. Immediately, the song matches Uchuu Kyoudai really nicely, before more instruments come in for a fuller instrumental. Once you get to the chorus, Angela sings in a higher, more softer pitch.
「告白 -石野卓球 リミックス- (Kokuhaku -Ishino Takkyu Remix-)」 is the same as the original, but with a more “outerworldly” remix as its instrumental. Angela’s vocals are also softer in this remix. The focus is more on the remix rather than her vocals.
A garage band makes up the instrumental of 「宇宙 -80KIDZ リミックス- (Uchuu -80KIDZ Remix-)」, which is more of a rock song rather than its calmer final counterpart. Angela also puts a lot of emotion into her vocals, especially as she sings from the brothers’ point of view and their feelings for space.
「告白 -アニメバージョン- (Kokuhaku -Anime Version-)」 is the same as the original, just made shorter for the anime.
A PV was made for Kokuhaku. It features a fictional city where Angela Aki sings and plays the piano amongst large musical notes. I always love how energetic she is in her PVs.
A great single; there’s not much on this since the title track is for an anime and most of the tracks are different versions, but the original, Kokuhaku, is a great song.
